The former home of Waling Dijkstra, the beloved Frisian writer and poet, has been transformed with great attention to detail into two unique residences, each with its own name derived from poems by Waling Dijkstra himself.

The two accommodations can be combined and booked together for a maximum of 6 people.

Frisian for: sunbeam — 4 people

Sinnestriel lies tucked away behind the front house, bordering the beautiful inner garden which overlooks the Wadden Sea dike and the characteristic church tower of Holwerd. As soon as the sun shines through the windows of Sinnestriel, you understand the name immediately. Light, spacious, and inviting — this is the larger of the two apartments, with room for four people.

Inside, everything is well-cared for and tastefully decorated. Outside, a private garden with a terrace awaits — perfect for breakfast in the morning sun, a good book in the afternoon, or a glass of wine when the day is over.

The entrance to Simmermoarn is located on the charming little street; on this street, you can enjoy your coffee and breakfast outside in the morning sun, or unwind in the shade after a warm day and enjoy the peace and quiet.

In the spacious entrance hall, a corner with a small desk has been set up as a memorial to Waling Dijkstra; his small bookshop used to be located here. Upstairs is the cozy bedroom, which features a freestanding bathtub, a spacious rain shower, and a private toilet.
