THE STORY
Waling Dijkstra's former cottage
In the heart of Holwerd, hidden behind a facade with a memory, lie two special holiday apartments. This is the former home of Waling Dykstra — poet, writer, Frisian through and through. His stories were about ordinary people in extraordinary places. Now his house has become such a place.
The Waling Suites have been furnished with care and love by owners Han and Suzanne. Historic character, modern comfort, and always that typical Frisian tranquility surrounding you. Whether you come for the Wadden Sea, for Ameland, for the cycling routes through the farmland — or simply for nothing — you feel at home here.
In addition to the Walingsuites, Han and Suzanne opened Boutique Hotel Villa Oldenhoff in 2010.
